We are delighted to welcome you to Glasgow, Scotland’s Enlightenment city, for BAPO 2025—a premier event showcasing the latest advancements in Paediatric ENT. Haytham Kubba extends his warm invitation to this exciting gathering, where Prof. Natalie Loundon from Hôpital Necker-Enfants Malades, Paris, will deliver the prestigious John Evans Lecture on gene therapy in paediatric hearing loss. An Historic Venue

This year’s conference will take place in the beautiful Sir Charles Wilson Building, part of the historic University of Glasgow. Founded in 1451, the university is the fourth oldest in the English speaking world and has produced some of the world’s greatest minds, including economist Adam Smith and physicist Lord Kelvin.

BAPOJ Travelling Fellowship Prize

The submission for the BAPOJ travelling fellowship prize will be a 500 word response to answer the following statement:

“Given the lower post operative haemorrhage rate from intracapsular coblation tonsillectomy should all paediatric tonsillectomies be undertaken using this operative technique?”

All BAPOJ members are eligible to apply if they are going on a national or international senior paediatric fellowship and/or international fellows undertaking a recognised senior paediatric fellowship in the UK. BAPOJ Revision Course

This year, BAPOJ will be holding an exam revision course for paeds. This all day course is just £25 for BAPOJ members (membership is free). The cost for non-members is £50 – and places are strictly limited.

Abstract Submissions

At the meeting there will be free papers sessions throughout the meeting and submissions are now invited on-line. Abstracts must be submitted by midnight on Friday, 4 July 2025. Submitters can indicate whether they prefer an oral presentation or poster presentation, however the final decision will be taken by the BAPO Scientific Committee.

Submitting an Abstract

Abstracts should be prepared as follows. A maximum word limit of 250 words (excluding title, authors and references) will be strictly enforced. If the word count is found to be greater than this, the abstract will be rejected outright, without further consideration. Abstracts should be structured, with subheadings Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion.

First author must present the paper.

Please note that abstracts must be unpublished and must not have been presented previously at a national meeting in the UK.
