President's Message 2020BAPO
Dear BAPO members,
This has been a year unlike any that most of us can remember. As a profession some of us have endured illness, lost family or colleagues and for many it has been a very difficult time both at home and at work.
We were really disappointed that we were unable to host the BAPO meeting in 2020 but are planning to host a 2 day meeting in Birmingham in September 2021 instead. We are very much looking forward to meeting up again and hope that a 2 day meeting gives us an opportunity to host not only a world class academic meeting but also a memorable social event.
BAPO council have been working hard behind the scenes, providing input into national COVID response strategy, hosting webinars, improving the website and consolidating the BAPO infrastructure including membership lists and finances. We remain a strong well run society and will come out fighting.
I am very grateful for all of the work that all of the fantastic BAPO council have put in this year but would especially like to thank the secretaries Steve and Ravi, the treasurer Will Hellier and my outgoing predecessor, the formidable Mike Kuo.
I hope that you all get some rest and happiness over the Christmas holiday. I think we deserve it.
