Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust
Nominator: Dan Tweedie
Seconder: Ravi Thevasagayam
I have been a consultant at Sheffield Children’s Hospital for almost 5 years. I completed my surgical training in North Thames, culminating in completing a clinical and research fellowship in paediatric ENT at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
I was BAPO Trainee rep in 2015-16. I continue to maintain a keen interest in training. The ENT curriculum has been recently updated and together with BAPO I hope to influence implementation of the improved standards the curriculum sets to achieve, particularly focussing on Phase 3 development of special interest, and help shape the next generation of paediatric ENT surgeons.
Covid-19 has left our units with longer waiting lists, staff shortages, and resulting issues on how we deliver training, and I would like to be part of BAPO guiding the road to recovery. Having worked in the South and North of England I appreciate similarities as well as differences in how tertiary paediatric trusts run and hope I can share this insight in BAPO to achieve this.
It would be a privilege to join BAPO council and I thank you for your vote.
